NOTICE: BANK WILL DISCONTINUE FAX SERVICE WITH EFFECT FROM 12TH FEBRUARY 2024

Dear Customer,

Due to technological advances, sending and receiving messages via fax machines has become outdated and not used by the vast majority of our customers.

Accordingly, we wanted to let you know that from 12th February 2024 we will stop using fax as a means of communication and therefore ALL our fax numbers will no longer work.

All other methods of contacting with each other (as set out in our general terms and conditions and available on our website: https://www.habibbank.com/uk/home/ukHome.html) are unchanged, for example: in person, by post, telephone or email.

How this impacts you and what you may need to do

From the date mentioned above you will not be able to give any instructions to us, contact or communicate with us by fax. We will also stop using fax as a means of communication with our customers.

If you currently only use fax to communicate with us then please contact your relationship manager who will be pleased to guide you about other ways to communicate with us and our requirements.

What if you have previously given an indemnity to us regarding instructions by fax?

If you are a personal or business customer who has previously signed the document called “Agreement and indemnity regarding fax/electronic instructions and communications.” Then you must read the attached notice, marked Appendix 1, as it is applicable to you and contains important information.

You should contact your relationship manager if you have any questions about the above.

IMPORTANT NOTICE AND INFORMATION APPLICABLE TO ALL PERSONAL AND BUSINESS ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY SIGNED THE DOCUMENT CALLED “AGREEMENT AND INDEMNITY … REGARDING FAX/ELECTRONIC INSTRUCTIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS”
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY AND TAKE SUCH ACTION AS IS NECESSARY

Because we will stop using fax from 12th February 2024 we need to make changes to the following documents:

  • “Agreement and indemnity from an individual regarding fax/electronic instructions and communications”; and the
  • “Agreement and indemnity from a company/business regarding fax/electronic instructions and communications”.

From 12th February 2024 the agreement and indemnities for personal and business customers mentioned above shall each be amended so that any reference to “fax”, “facsimile” or similar wording will automatically be deemed deleted and that these documents shall each be read as such from that date.

Subject to the amendments set out above, the remainder of each of the documents mentioned above will remain effective, valid and in full force and effect in accordance with their respective terms and all references in each document to “this agreement” or any derivative terms shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be taken as references to each document as amended above.

If you accept the contents of this notice and the changes stated above then you do not need to do anything else and the changes will be deemed to be accepted by you and automatically apply from the date stated above.

However, if you do not accept the changes stated above, then you have the right to terminate your agreement and indemnity before the date stated above by giving us notice in writing that you wish to terminate your agreement and indemnity.
